Florence Battering North Carolina Coast

Hurricane Florence with winds of 105 mph is bringing rain and wind along the North Carolina Coast. There is fear about the storm surge from the storm, and inland flooding. The storm is spreading heavy rain and strong winds into the Carolinas, with landfall possible overnight tonight, kicking off an agonizing crawl through the Southeast into early next week, producing catastrophic inland rainfall flooding, life-threatening storm surge and destructive winds. As of early this evening, Florence’s eye was located about 90 miles east-southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina, crawling west-northwestward at just 5 mph. Full Report.
